Meet Shawn Egbert - Our 2022 Jeff's Heroes Winner!

The people have spoken, and the Jeff Schmitt Auto Group is thrilled to announce that Shawn Egbert is the winner of our 3rd Jeff's Heroes Initiative!

After we announced this incredible initiative to highlight and reward real, local heroes in the Miami Valley, the response was absolutely amazing. We received nominations for four exceptional individuals from around the Miami Valley, all of whom have done so much for so many in our community.

That's why we're so happy to award Shawn Egbert with a vehicle worth up to $20,000 as well as an additional cash prize of $10,000

Shawn's Story

Shawn has been described by those closest to her as a "real life hero" for her tireless work as a transportation specialist with the Pink Ribbon Girls, a cancer support organization. In this role, Shawn selflessly dedicates her time driving clients to treatment and providing them with the emotional support they need during their difficult journey with cancer.

As a cancer survivor herself, Shawn is able to offer a unique perspective and understanding to the women she assists. She has faced her own challenges in the past year, including the loss of her sister, best friend, and father, as well as several Pink Ribbon Girls clients whom she formed close relationships with. Despite these heartbreaks, Shawn remains a beacon of hope and encouragement to those fighting cancer in the Miami Valley. She is a true inspiration, and one family member remarked that Shawn is "a special person to suffer through loss and still make this world a better place." A close friend added that Shawn builds relationships with patients and their families, providing them with a sense of community and comfort during a time when they may feel alone.

Jay Schmitt, President of the Jeff Schmitt Auto Group, had this to say "I was humbled and honored to get to know each of our Jeff's Heroes Finalists this year. Anthony, Connie, Lane, and Shawn are all deserving of this prize for what they do every single day to help others in our community." As the winner of Jeff's Heroes, Shawn will receive a vehicle worth up to $20,000 as well as an additional cash prize of $10,000. The Jeff Schmitt Auto Group launched the Jeff's Heroes initiative in 2021 as a way to recognize and support community heroes in the Greater Dayton area. Past winners include Nicole Adkins and Connie McEldowney, both of whom were chosen based on public voting. The initiative has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community, and the team at the Jeff Schmitt Auto Group is thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate and reward the selfless efforts of heroes like Shawn.
